GENERAL SUMMARY:


This position will lead Granite's business development efforts in government contracting. The position will also focus on SBA vehicles including Mentor Protg, HUBZones, 8(a), MBE, SBE, WBE, SDVOSB, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Assesses Granite?s capabilities, competitive position, and market opportunities in government contracting to develop and execute a market expansion strategy.

Recognizes market trends and changes in competitive landscape, and leads initiatives inside Granite to maintain a competitive advantage.

Leads the overall business development strategy across Granite for government contracting to generate a robust pipeline of project opportunities.

Develops, negotiates and supports government contracting opportunities for Granite.

Stays involved during project delivery phase to maintain relationships with clients and provide high level support to delivery team.

Develops, cultivates, and manages relationships with key players across the industry.

Facilitates teaming and joint venture negotiations with potential partners, including designers and other contractors.


Required Education & Work Experience:
* Bachelor's degree required.
* Minimum of 10 to 20 years of experience in government contracting (primarily in construction/engineering) with proven experience in project development and management.
* A combination of contracting experience throughout the U.S. Government including the DOD, USACE, NAVFAC, DOS, USAF, DOE and other.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Detailed understanding of government contracting.

Direct experience in or detailed understanding of heavy civil construction is preferred.

Established and impeccable reputation among players in government contracting.

Detailed understanding of market drivers for government contracting.

Ability to work collaboratively with corporate and business unit resources across different functional areas.

Ability to effectively market Granite to customers and partners

Cultural fit with Granite and Granite's core values

Demonstrated ability to multi task and work effectively under pressure, tight timelines, and changing priorities.



Additional Requirements/Skills:

Extensive travel will be required.
